Dr. Cage is a licensed Doctor of Dental Medicine with extensive experience in the dental industry. He joined Liberty Dental Plan in 2014 as a Staff Dentist responsible for Utilization Management determinations and clinical expertise for claims review. In the Spring of 2019 Dr. Cage was promoted to California Dental Director, primarily responsible for dental policy and decision-making for Liberty Dental Plan. He supervises Quality Management and Improvement Departments consisting of numerous committees, dentists, administrative staff and professional consultants. He is involved in all aspects of quality management activities, including grievances, peer review, quality assurance, quality audits, monitoring Staff Dentists. training, Credentialing of Liberty's providers and utilization reporting. Dr Cage is dedicated to overseeing the quality and appropriateness of care to our members to ensure that our mission statement of member satisfaction is fulfilled.Dr. Cage started his Dental career as a Lieutenent in the US Navy Dental Corps. Following the Navy he practiced as a General Dentist for 24 years in San Diego and Oakland, CA. In addition to having an active California dental license he is also licensed with the Northeast Regional Boards.Dr. Cage is CADP Certified and is an active member of the American Dental Association. He received a BS in Chemistry from Indiana University and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Howard University.
