I have earned a master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati with the emphasis of the degree on Demography and demographic techniques.An underlying principle for my career has been data democratization, or bridging the gap between data producers and data users. I have created multiple web-based applications, developing and expanding the capabilities of a number of innovative and user-friendly data collection, analysis, and information delivery systems.I am experienced in multiple statistical methods, having consulted with researchers from nearly every discipline at universities in the US and abroad, as well as having conducted research and statistical analysis with many local and regional government and social service agencies.I have written research monographs, referred journal articles, and book chapters on various topics including obesity, application development, gender inequality, and measurement theory. I am an effective presenter, comfortable with both small and large audiences. I have presented data and research results and consulted with directors of social service agencies, hospital executives, foundation boards, local and state health department leadership, and local, state and national elected officials.I have been directly responsible for the design, development, implementation, promotion and maintenance of successful database-driven web applications. I have also managed collaborative teams of systems analysts, application developers, database administrators, graphic designers, researchers, policy makers, network administrators, media specialists, and others to development, deploy, and promote web-based data tools.In 2006, I was awarded the Annual Evaluation Recognition Award by the Ohio Program Evaluators’ Group in recognition of contributions to evaluation research. In 2007, I was nominated and became a Finalist for the 2007 Health Care Hero Award (Innovation Category) sponsored by the Cincinnati Business Courier.
