Born in Florida, and raised on a family farm in Kentucky. Trained as a studio artist with Visual Art degrees from FSU and UC. In 1986, at age 28, founded DataWorks, Inc in Naples, Florida. Mark is the father of seven and the lucky husband of Jenny. Until 1995, DataWorks created systems for the fashion retail industry. DataWorks supplied a monolithic system that included modules for Point of Sale, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Customer Profiling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Banking.In 1995 DataWorks created a two way interface to the MICROS 8700 Point of Sale system. Mark authored that interface, which focused the company on it's back office inventory control system for use in the hospitality and entertainment industry.DataWorks now offers procurement and inventory control systems for Retail, F&B and Supply management . Casinos, museums, stadiums, resorts, theme parks, and zoos use DataWorks' software. The product has multi-company, language, and currency capabilities and can run on a local property or span the needs of an entire enterprise.
