- Primary responsibilities include ongoing development and maintenance of a proprietary Scrap Optimization model based on a genetic algorithm- Develop interface specifications and custom code for customers- Deploy and maintain custom application software for sites around the world

- Worked on a variety of automation projects in the steel industry that ranged from 2 weeks to 2 years in duration; involved in all aspects of a project from proposal to completion- Job responsibilities included - project management, architecture, configuring and installing computer hardware and networks, developing software, and re-engineering existing code

- Managed an 8 node VAX Cluster running VMS at the #1 Caster Complex- Responsible for all software and operating system upgrades, system configuration and expansion, performance tuning, network support, backups, and all application software- Maintained and modified existing source code as well as developed new applications
