I am an intellectual property litigator whose practice focuses on legal issues affecting the video game industry. As a “gamer who happens to be a lawyer,” I have been playing games for over 30 years and have represented some of the biggest video game publishers in the world. I regularly litigate and consult clients about issues ranging from copyright infringement, trade secrets, trademark infringement and unfair competition to violations of rights of publicity and other matters. I am particularly active in IP enforcement for multiple industry clients, with a specific focus on utilizing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act’s (DMCA) anti-circumvention provision to pursue individuals and groups who develop, distribute and sell cheats used in popular online multiplayer games. Lately, a growing portion of my practice has focused on providing guidance to clients grappling with the rise of generative AI.
