 As Scrum Master for the web team, implemented WMATA’s first “Agile” practice by training staff and web team members in the Scrum framework. Managed 4 major web projects in support of the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. These projects included WMATA Mobile website, WMATA.com refresh, Webserver colocation, and e-alert (email, text, and social) system for metro system alerts throughout the Northern Virginia area.

 Served as the department manager and led a team of 5 programmers, developers, and DBAs in daily operations servicing the organization in areas of web applications design and development, BI (Business Intelligence) and Analytics, CRM, Data Warehousing, Reports, and Data Hygiene. Served as Scrum Master and Agile Coach, introducing and implementing the Scrum Framework within the IT and Marketing Divisions.

 As Web Architect and Scrum Master, served a team of 7 developers, designers, and project managers tasked with developing and supporting FRA's internal and external websites and applications. Managed and supported the agency’s CMS (Content Management System), Alfresco, and provided training and support to all program offices and divisions. Led the redesign effort for the website which involved a Usability Testing and Design Validation effort, and served as the lead web COTR/COR (Procurement Representative) for the agency on matters pertaining to web. I also served as COTR for the web redesign project leveraging a DOJ-mandated SDLC methodology and framework. Within the first year of employment with the Bureau of Prisons, saved the agency over $200,000 in outside services. Served as the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and implemented the FRA's first Scrum team. Led the development team in writing web-based software applications utilizing Agile/Scrum development principles and methodologies. As CSM, led the FRA’s first BI (Business Intelligence) platform integration utilizing SharePoint, .Net, and Silverlight tools. Scrum team was responsible for creating over fifty dashboards and services that saved the agency hundreds of thousands of dollars by highlighting cost overruns, billing mistakes by vendors (e.g. Verizon & AT&T Wireless bills), and exposing wasteful and redundant spending.

 Led and managed daily web operations and budget for the organization. Was responsible for creating and managing the internet plan and budget, supervising and coaching staff, conducting regular salary and performance reviews, and managing web procurement activities and contractors. Served as Product Owner and led the organization in implementing change to the entire web infrastructure and within eight months launched a newly redesigned, usability-driven website, CMS, and hosting solution saving the organization over $150,000 per year in recurring hosting, support, and maintenance costs. Directed the publishing and marketing of nine online e-publications and newsletters - improved deliverability rate from 67% to 99% resulting in a 300% online revenue increase totaling $1.5 million dollars. Led PF’s social media and online marketing strategy by directing the development, monitoring, and reporting of PF’s social media campaigns and platforms (FB, Twitter, and YouTube).

 As Internet Marketing Manager for Advance Auto Parts, led web strategy and development, managed daily web operations, web developers, designers, and writers, and oversaw the department’s 3 million dollar online marketing budget. Led the redesign and implementation of the new website in 2003, and in December of 2004, AdvanceAutoParts.com was voted "Top 50 Best of the Web" by Internet Retailer Magazine. Developed Advance Auto’s first online marketing strategy in 2001. Those online marketing efforts drove $7,000,000 in online sales and $25,000,000 in offline sales.  Managed the online system that supported and linked 2400 stores with our 45,000 SKU e-commerce site. The e-commerce environment supported in-store pickup functionality and kept track of store inventories in real-time. Directly responsible for achieving the number 1 position on Google for the highly competitive key phrase: “auto parts”.

 Programmed interactive, database-driven websites within a LAMP stack environment, using PHP, PERL, HTML, JavaScript, and MYSQL. Led the development team that designed and wrote one of the first online Term Life Insurance quoting systems, “America on Term”. Additionally, wrote online applications such as contact manager software, customer management systems, and real estate sales management software. Designed numerous MYSQL and PHP-based software for insurance companies throughout the city of Richmond.
