Described as a "critical friend" I see this role as three-fold: supporting the accessibility agenda within Northern Rail and its wider partners, holding Northern to account when there are failings in accessibility and advocating for greater accessibility and inclusion at Northern and the Rail Industry as a whole.

Independent Chair of the Rail Accessibility and Inclusion Forum for the North facilitating collaboration between all train operators on the West Coast Mainline and East Coast Main Line, and those that connect the two: "Travel in the North, to the North and from the North" along with other industry and infrastructure partners. The Robert Gillow (Academic Services Division) is a unique research organisation based within The Robert Gillow public house in Lancaster (UK). The Division conducts independant research, bid development, consultancy and public engagement projects on behalf of a range of clients within the public and private sector. In addition, the Division takes responsibility for the organisation of an innovative programme of public engagement, cultural exchange and academic development events within the public house environment. These are designed to develop the concept of public houses as centres for social inclusion and cultural development.

The Robert Gillow was a community focussed venue which used music, art and community to develop a business model built around social capitalism. We used this venue to create a The Robert Gillow Free Food Initiative which provided over 800 plates of food a week to free within the venue: Free For Anyone, So it was Free for Everyone. This site was taken in house by Hydes Brewery in Autumn 2016.
