My lived experience allows me to offer support and hope to those struggling with substance use, mental health diagnoses, incarceration, reentry, and homelessness. Today, because of recovery, I live a life free from substance use and incarceration and I’m no longer debilitated by mental illness and homelessness. I have the gift of family again. Of being able to be present and wanted. The experiences that once broke me actually qualify me to make a difference. I get to go to work every day pursuing my passion to help other people who are fighting their own battles.
