Open Eugene is a tech-for-good org in Eugene, OR. We help other civic orgs focus on mission by assisting with technical solutions. There is a small core team and a cloud of volunteers. OE is a fiscally sponsored by Hack Club Bank.

In 2011 I co-founded CodeChops, Eugene's first coworking space. We were the first tenant of the 2nd floor of the Broadway Commerce Center in the heart of Eugene's Innovation District. We actively support the downtown revitalization and small business of all types in the core.

We Started Offworld to help civic orgs have gala events during the 2020 pandemic. Post pandemic we went back to IRL events.

Consulted on the launch of a Blazor effort for a membership portal for a large state health care system.

The HP Developer Program maintains the public facing open source API catalog at http://hp.io My role is more specifically Developer Community and Outreach fostering open collaboration between team both internally and externally to HP.

Developer Experience Team at HP. Supported the API Portal at http://hp.io Internal and External Developer Experience. Planned Hack-a-Thons and wrote sample apps.

As the Developer Evangelist at CBT Nuggets I provided open leadership to regional civic projects like BarCamp, Hack4Cause, & Maker Faire while promoting CBT Nuggets as an awesome place to work. In my time there I facilitated 22 events including Eugene's first BarCamp and raised awareness of CBT as larger events like OSCON. I help local tech folks navigate the CBT hiring process into roles like App Developers and Product Owners. When the Evangelist project concluded CBT was the only major tech firm in the region that was not hiring. I'm very proud of the work I did at CBT Nuggets to help them be a more visible and attractive employer in the region.

I build the learning software using Windows Universal Platform ensuring a great learning experience on Desktops, Laptops, Xbox One and Hololens.

I was part of the first wave in the Xamarin Student Ambassador Program while taking a mobile development continuing ed classes at LCC. This entailed running a physical meetup group as well as social media outreach. Basically a developer evangelist. Made a bunch of great connections worldwide in the process.
