• Providing client facing tax services to international companies setting up in the UK and Europe including incorporation, corporation tax, employment taxes, permanent establishment and VAT.• Tax registrations & filings in corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes (BIKs, P11Ds, National Insurance and PAYE Settlement Agreements), WHT & tax residency certificates, employment related securities and short term business visitors.• Researching and communicating clear written and verbal tax advice and guidance, whether for PAYE/SA purposes, disclosure for financial statements & computations or for identifying tax opportunities and assessing tax risks.• Engagement management duties, fee negotiation, regulatory compliance and contractual matters as well as working cross-departmentally with colleagues from other disciplines to ensure a consistent and coherent approach is maintained.• Advising on HMRC administrative requirements and changes, company secretarial issues including incorporation or strike-off and tax due diligence advice.• Proactively reviewing clients’ presences in international territories with a view to their permanent establishment exposure and managing the associated risk exposures. • Corporate tax compliance and reporting services to clients from large US-listed groups to small owner-managed businesses. Active participant in year-end tax reporting, including the preparation of current and deferred tax provisions. • Key member of the outsource team for an international compliance and US GAAP quarterly reporting provisioning engagement, planning the reporting process, managing the timely delivery of international tax compliance and statutory reporting for multiple entities in a number of jurisdictions across EMEA.• Engagement team member for a FTSE 350 client with over 60 UK entities, first point of contact for day to day client relationships, data analysis for tax sensitive items and timely delivery of a high volume of returns in a short timeframe to relevant contacts.• Tax depreciation projects, analysing large numbers of fixed asset additions and reviewing legislation to determine appropriate treatment for Capital Allowances.• Participation in statutory audits as a tax auditor, exercising robust professional scepticism on client information and requesting further information where required.• Reviewing documentation, drafting Transfer pricing defence reports and Advance Thin Capitalisation Agreements to support loan agreements in place.• Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) advance assurance applications and advice on Research and Development expenditure, reliefs and incentives.
