I help private businesses build strategic plans that are more likely to be achieved than those created through traditional strategic planning processes. Here is how I do it:1️⃣ I use the richness of strategy management frameworks so that the 45,000 foot strategy statement in the abstract can be connected directly to tangible ankle-high tactics that people will actually need to do. I use key features of the Kaplan-Norton strategy management framework to do this.2️⃣ I use tools that I have created to augment this framework so that the typical barriers to progress in planning can be overcome.3️⃣ I work to ensure that EVERYONE on the senior leadership team knows and understands company strategy so that they can make sure everyone else that works there does too. And when everyone knows the company strategy, the chances that staff are always working on the right things increases significantly.ABOUT ME:I am a Harvard Business School & Mount Allison University alum that spent most of my professional career in senior management at a mid-sized consulting firm. My responsibilities spanned most key functional areas of the enterprise including: General Management, Strategy, Technology & Delivery Management, Sales & Marketing Leadership, Talent, Remote Team Management, and Operations. With full P&L responsibility, I led consulting engagements at some of North America's most recognizable bands in Retail, Energy, and Manufacturing, managing both remote and local teams. I have combined those experiences with the 440park Strategy Management Framework to help companies do a better job of linking strategy and operations.I am also committed to exceptional corporate governance. I have completed the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program, having been active in corporate governance for more than 15 years. These include Board Leadership positions at Mount Allison University Board of Regents (Chair, Executive Committee) and Halifax Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Chair). I like to think I am a passionate life-long learner of the customer experience, digital transformation, applied data, and employee engagement. My core purpose as a leader is to help other leaders to be successful, and I work with clients and mentees to help them achieve their best results possible. I was named to Canada's Top 40 under 40 list by Caldwell in 2007. I run marathons, compete in masters swimming, and officiate at Alpine Ski events as a Level 2 official.
