Safety & Risk Control Manager for all national retail locations under the WSI name plate (Pottery Barn, West Elm, Williams Sonoma). Oversee implementation of safety program requirements and designated processes to reduce injuries and claim numbers. Introduced concept of sales needed at store level to "pay for" incurred expense related to injuries. Regular interaction with VPs/GVPs/OVPs pertaining to the cost of claims, ways to lower injury potential, and discussion of tools to elevate safety awareness, lower lost time, and enhance the EBIT $$. Key features and achievements:* Safety Manager for over 600 locations in North America in retail and corporate locations.* Developed company's 1st Safety Program for locations to meet US OSHA and Canada OHSA standards and requirements.* Developed the WSI Safety Program Evaluation compete with a narrative and calculating a % score based on a location's adherence to communicated safety program and injury reduction practices.* 2018 v 2018 results show a 17% claims reduction and also and a 65% indemnity claims count reductions. 2019 v. 2018 show a 32% claims reduction in store brand associate claims.* Drafted, edited, and released 3 safety videos to enhance injury reduction practices and safety awareness (Ladder Safety and General Safety Video i.e., material handling, injury reporting, life safety, equipment safety). Also produced an Active Shooter Video distributed to all stores. * Worked on over 37 US OSHA & Canada OHSA cases to negotiate no fine and citation settlement pertaining to Life Safety, Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment.* Regional and National assessments of safety program needs based on assessments of safety program opportunities and/or claim trends.* Developing an Ergonomic and a Food Safety Program at the national and international level.

Managed Safety Program & Claims Reduction Activities for 220 locations in 11 states for Liability, Workers’ Compensation and Property exposures to attain Loss Reduction. Achieved savings between $3,000,000 and $6,000,000 annually related to retail, logistics, and construction operations.• Created, monitored, and assessed Macy*s Corporate Target (Focus) Claims Reduction Program for 5 years. Over 80 locations attained cost reductions totaling $5M annually. • Directed and monitored Western Risk Control staff’s claims reduction activities and development of service plans. Reviewed all correspondence for accuracy and professional content. • Executed OSHA program for 22 western states; pertaining to inspections, safety program execution and development (IIPP), physical hazard assessments related to retail, logistics, and construction exposures (25-40 cases annually). Drafted responses with legal department and negotiated with OSHA on citation type/classification and fine amounts. No fines paid in 2016!• Administered and delegated Ergonomics Program and performed assessments for locations in Western U.S analyzing ergonomic exposures related to office, processing, and assembly. • Implemented Macy*s Corporate “No Lost Time Award” to recognize locations that exceeded 300,000 work hours without incurring a lost time associate injury. Over 120 facilities (26% of eligible locations) approved for award amounts of $1000 or more; 11 stores exceeded 1,000,000 hours without incurring any indemnity cases.

Identified Liability and Worker’s Compensation exposures. Provided recommendations at local and regional level. Claims reduction in 14 of 15 years equating to $2,000,000 to $3,000,000 annually.• Developed cost computation models that calculated cost incurred (or savings attained) in relative terms of percent of sales monthly/annually. Tailored calculations to resonate with the retail group coached, i.e. number of shoes required to be sold to off-set incurred claim costs.• Member of a 10 person Profit Improvement Committee, developing recommendations to EVPs to enhance stores’/company financial performance. Calculated that a 19% reduction in claims reduction would double Macy Wests’ EBIT EOY results.• Collaborated with medical clinics to develop Return-To-Work programs.• Designed work attire, store fixture designs and work processes that realized injury reductions – majority for implementation at district and regional level.• Performed Sprinkler & Building Property Exposure Assessments inclusive of sprinkler flow and generator testing, chemical and storage practices, and life safety codes (NFPA)..
