The budget for maintenance for the DFDPM plant is £740,000 of which the management is part of my responsibilities. Shutdown planning and execution, plus statutory and inspection works in both Electrical and Mechanical areas are all part of my responsibilities. Achievements:•Increased availability of whole DFDPM plant from 86% to 96% in less than a year through culture change, modification and better maintenance methodology.•Extra responsibilities taken on due to adoption of neighbouring business, smooth integration completed.•Intranet information system set up to effectively communicate maintenance activities including shutdown planning.•Capital Project Assistance to integrate £20m expansion into existing facility

Responsible for Electronic reliablity of 50+ Works and Customer Ford World Rally Cars, Role also included maintenance of £10m facility.Achievement: No retirements of World Rally Cars due to electrical failure during my time with the team.

Process Engineer Electrical, Lackenby Continuous Casting Plant, Corus UKScope: The most senior electrical position, I was responsible for all aspects of the Bloom Caster at Lackenby, from front line firefighting to development work, this also extended to certain other areas of the plant as required. I had two Maintenance Support Technicians reporting directly to me and also 15+ shift electricians plus many contractors. I reported directly to Plant Engineer and Works Manager. Responsibilities included the management of £200k of expenditure directly, along with a part responsibility for a further £1.3m for electrical work on the site.Achievements: • Competent to provide engineering cover for weekends in one month.• Many capital projects underway.• Commissioning of previous large budget projects.
