Mark Morton is the president and founder of Morton, an IT staffing firm he began in 2006. Everything Mark knows about running a business he learned from growing up and working in his grandfather’s hardware store. Mark’s grandfather took the time to learn and tailor to the needs of each and every customer that walked in his store, and Mark has applied those same values to IT staffing. Mark created a company that focuses on putting people first, because no matter what business you’re in, treating people right is always the right thing to do. Morton has been recognized for its continued growth on numerous occasions since its founding in 2006, including its inclusion on the Inc. 500 list in 2010; the Inc. 5000 list in 2011, 2012, and 2018; as a finalist for the 2011 Richmond Technology Council’s Emerging Company Award; as a 2018 recipient of the TechServe Alliance Excellence Award; and has been honored for its commitment to community engagement by the VCU Alumni Richmond Chapter. The growth and success of Morton has allowed the business to recently relocate their headquarters to a brand new office space in Scott’s Addition, Richmond, VA.
