My research has been used in several theses to advance the concept of unmanned aerial communication relays as a supplement to expeditionary communications from sea based command and control nodes. • Published a 119-page quantitative thesis to analyze the gaps in U.S. Marine Corps current expeditionary communications infrastructure, and determine the viability of an agile on-the-move, beyond-line-of-site, meshed network implementation incorporating the use of unmanned aerial communication relays. This approach, increases the capability of multiple smaller military units able to traverse non-contiguous battlespaces while maintaining voice, video, and data communications from sea based command and control nodes at a distance of over 12 miles. • Responsible for equipping, deploying, and support of 3 communication teams from the Hastily Formed Networks (HFN) Research Group to the Philippine islands, for communications support to governmental and non-governmental organizations assisting with disaster recovery efforts in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. • Assisted in the development and implemented a deployable meshed Wi-Fi / MANET network for Monterey County California emergency communications task force.
