Lead stakeholders in public health, behavioral health, substance abuse prevention, and social services efforts to address opioid/opiate misuse, abuse, and overdose. Identify and secure sources of funding for opioid safety related activities, including public education, naloxone distribution, and provider network development.

Engage community leaders in healthcare, public health, behavioral health, substance abuse prevention, public policy, law enforcement, and social services to work collaboratively to address opioid/opiate misuse, abuse, and overdose. Provide technical assistance to community coalitions, task forces, and committees adopting elements of Project Lazarus. Promote changes in public policy, law enforcement practices, healthcare system policy, clinical care guidelines, public health practices, and public/consumer behaviors.

Provide direction and oversight of programs and staff for comprehensive, 24 hour psychiatric and substance abuse crisis evaluation, short-term stabilization, psychiatric walk-in clinic, mobile crisis team, and including quality assurance, completion and timely submission of clinical assessments, treatment plans, outcome measurements, discharge summaries and other required documentation and reports. Monitor tracking systems for referrals, intakes, discharges and outcomes.

Lead special project for Northern Piedmont Community Care, a 6 county network of Community Care of North Carolina. Coordinate and catalyze community health initiatives designed to improve the coordination of care across the full continuum of care for complex, high-risk, and high-utilizing Medicaid patients and reduce prescription opioid misuse, abuse and overdose.
