My role places me at the forefront of AMA’s efforts to revolutionize procurement and contract management practices. I pursue efficiency, cost savings, and the implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives. My role oversees the day-to-day operations of our procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management. - Building relationships and viewing conflicts as opportunities for growth; - Inspiring and empowering my team to conquer challenges and achieve extraordinary results; - Leading the strategic sourcing of vendors and third-party arrangements, creating and evaluating selection strategies, implementing cost-saving measures, and mitigating risks; - Overseeing the vendor performance management framework to ensure that our service providers consistently meet and exceed our expectations;- Driving efficiency and value while maintaining best practices and continuously seeking improvement;- Analyzing, reviewing, and monitoring RFx, contracting, and agreements;- Providing expertise and support for contract negotiations, ensuring that our agreements align with our objectives and mitigate potential risks;- Contributing to the enterprise resourcing planning software upgrade with contribution of desired procurement capabilities, process enablement or enhancements;- Supporting the upgrade of third-party risk management practices ensuring alignment with expectations of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI); and- Overseeing records management within the procurement and contract management lifecycle.

I was responsible for CWB Financial Group’s procurement function, including sourcing and procure-to-pay (P2P), contract and vendor performance management, and third-party risk management (TPRM) support. The focus of my role was to optimize overall purchasing costs, and add value while mitigating risk, without compromising quality customer service and satisfaction. I was responsible for purchasing strategy for a centralized Procurement model across all of Canadian Western Bank and its partner companies. This included oversight of the TPRM Support function. - Developed, managed and communicated a procurement business strategy that established standards, procedures and programs;- Implemented long-term goals in order to promote value, cost effectiveness and efficiency;- Oversaw procurement aspects of the Coupa Business Spend Management platform;- Managed and communicated standards and procedures for procurement, including sourcing, procure-to-pay, contract and vendor performance management, and TPRM;- Identified and realized cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities;- Evaluated performance of vendors and recommended contract renewal or competition; and- Proactively drove continuous value add, process improvement and new global best practices in sourcing, and project management excellence including the technology strategy for procurement.

The focus of my role was to support business units through the delivery of complex and/or sensitive vendor sourcing process. I was responsible for the Strategic Sourcing unit including Bonfire strategic sourcing software. This includes assurance of proper governance to the process to meet external and internal audit standards and regulatory compliance. I also identified and explained strategy appropriate to critical and strategic vendor sourcing events, and how the strategy supported overall business objectives.- Provided leadership to a growing team of procurement professionals with focus on strategic sourcing, negotiations and contracting, contract consolidation, and vendor rationalization;- Provided procurement subject matter expertise to internal clients and stakeholders;- Conducted market research and facilitated procurement events using a variety of formats and solicitation methods;- Supported client areas with procurement planning and execution, contracting, monitoring and confirmation of vendor compliance with contract terms, and optimizing vendor performance;- Contributed to the development of policies and procedures to support procurement governance and third party risk management within the organization;- Developed and maintained positive working relationships with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders; and- Achieved key accomplishments including the implementation of flexible RFx processes and templates, Bonfire strategic sourcing software, support to the Coupa P2P portal implementation, execution of a multi-category qualification and selection process for staffing agencies to provide contingent workers, and contribution to over $750,000 in cost savings for FY2021.

Responsibility was progressively elevated to include accountability for all aspects of the procurement branch, including strategic procurement planning & execution, strategic sourcing, competitive bidding and contracting, tactical and transactional purchasing, centralized contract records, procurement governance, contract and vendor performance management, risk management & insurance, stakeholder relations and training services.- Provided leadership to a team of fifteen procurement professionals by coaching, performance management, and ongoing support with learning and development;- Was responsible for Contracted Services, Acquisition Services, & Vendor Performance Management units;- Provided procurement subject matter expertise to internal clients and stakeholders;- Conducted direct and competitive procurement using a variety of formats and solicitation methods;- Drafted and negotiated complex procurement contracts and associated terms and conditions;- Established policies and procedures to support procurement governance activities within the organization;- Developed and maintained positive and productive working relationships with clients, vendors and internal contacts; and- Key accomplishments include implementing the negotiated request for proposals (RFP) process, a vendor performance management program, and procurement planning & tracking using MS Project.

Provided leadership and supervision for a team of buyers, taking an active, hands on role in the procurement of materials and equipment for Enbridge operations, maintenance and capital projects. Enbridge Pipelines Inc. restructured in November 2015 with support staff including Procurement moved under Enbridge Employee Services Canada Inc.- Executed the procurement process, including competitive bid requests, commercial bid evaluation, and purchase order preparation and issuance, while ensuring compliance with procedures and user requirements were met; - Ensured Supply Chain Management (SCM) remained compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx), internal financial controls and associated procedural requirements;- Ensured procurement staff were providing internal clients with a high level of service that mitigated operational and project risks while achieving optimal value;- Drove SCM activities to meet and exceed department objectives and performance measures;- Demonstrated a strong, organized work style while working under tight timelines driven by internal and external client demands; and- Key accomplishments included launch of a SharePoint site for program level oversight of assigned procurement activities for Liquids Pipelines project Material Requisition packages.
