A typical 10 or 12 hour shift might be working with a correspondent to shoot and edit the lead story then helping to rig and operate cameras for a live two-way including the broadcasting of the edited package before returning to shoot and edit updates in time for the next broadcast.I was responsible for using a wide range of television lighting equipment using my previous experience as a lighting electrician to safely deploy electricity from mains or generator supplies. I was also resonsible for recording sound using a range of microphones depending on the demands of the location and filming styles such as radio mics and shotgun mics.
