At GotGame Media, MarKel invented a predictive modeling algorithm and social network that helped college coaches around the nation find and recruit high school athletes that would have the greatest impact on their respective sports programs. His work as the Founder of this organization was focused on building out a scalable web crawling/screen scraping infrastructure and ETL programming interface that collected and fed data into the organization's data warehouse. Technologically, the organization leveraged PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML running on Red Hat Linux and Apache with mySQL serving as the underlying database technology.Additionally, as Founder, MarKel gained invaluable experience in fundraising. Working primarily throughout the state of Ohio, MarKel traveled extensively to each of the state's entrepreneurial signature programs, supported by the Ohio Department of Development, presenting to receive grants to help extend the needed funding to build out the invention. And while the program eventually ended, MarKel was able to successful win $100K in grants to help validate the idea for commercialization.
