I held this position for two consecutive summers in which I assisted high school and elementary school children with physical, mental, sexual, and nutritional health activities. Through designing curriculum, facilitating classroom discussion, and organizing workout plans, I guided these students through the summer and into promotion to their next grade.

Chengdu, Sichuan, China

As a language student, I studied Chinese(Mandarin) in Chengdu for 25 hours a week for six weeks. In this program, I was also responsible for projects that were meant to raise money for an underfunded school dedicated to serving children with autism. Our projects entailed traveling across the city using our own ideas to fundraise from the community, racing.

Istanbul, Turkey

In Istanbul, I was placed with a host family for six weeks. Without any program structure I was able live as my host family lived which included accompanying them on trips to the Grand Bazaar and the Haiga Sofia. During this time the Taksim Square riots had just come to pass and the reverb was still very evident. I took this opportunity to engage political.
