  • Veretekk
    Chief Marketing Officer
    Veretekk Jun 1996 - Jun 2014
I built the first inbound marketing platform called Veretekk in 1996 (at the Super Computer Center UCSD) that operated for almost 20 years. Including many firsts like the first sequential auto responder email platform, the first remote broadcasting tool (The Hammer), the first online application that both read and wrote to a remote database (Access database) and returned a set of commands and data to build the subscriber their own website instantaneously. Thereby compressing the process to build and recruit into seconds instead of what normally took weeks to accomplish. Another first was the PDF duplicator I built. By taking a predesign Adobe PDF, and injecting variables into it, we were able to create a self-replicating, unique and customized; business cards, brochures, fliers, articles, post cards, agreements, receipts, etc.As the architect, President and CEO, and Chief Marketing Officer, I was programming and hired programmers to build these systems. I was also the designer of the designs, interfaces, logos, and marketing videos and materials, and supervised the outsourcing as well. All of this was also designed to integrate within Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as those APIs and platforms became available and evolved. Before private labeling was trending, Veretekk was the engine behind hundreds of lead and marketing company’s platforms, and built me a database of over 150 million individual subscribers, users and recipients of Veretekk benefits:• Over 20 million system users• More than 40,000 paying subscribers• Over $1 million in hardware investment• Exceeding $1 million per year revenuesAfter 20+ years and with over 150 million subscribers over that period of time, it became necessary to shut down.
  • Ibotoolbox

    Ibotoolbox Jan 2012 - Jan 2014
I was the template the original owner used to build the Ibotoolbox system. It was called Veretekk.
  • Graphx.Inc
    Ceo
    Graphx.Inc Jan 1992 - Jun 1996
    Olympia, Wa, Us
GraphX was an interim company I opened while in Olympia Washington. It was mainly set up to handle the premium customers that I kept from TnT Studios when we left California and to focus on moving into technology. It was the first home business I built, and even though I had 1000s of hours on Macintosh with design and had an AOL account, it wasn't until I moved to Olympia the necessity of getting on the WWW and the opportunity of the WWW becoming available to me long before anyone else even knew what it was, was at hand.It was during this era I discovered the brute power of the Internet, and what that power and reach meant to the entrepreneurial pursuit and being able to produce huge revenue as a sole operator. This experience is what drove me into building web sites, technology, buying domains and developing social networks as I frantically pursued knowledge to be able to be ahead of the curve. I can confidently claim as a grandfather of the Internet, my grasp, knowledge and abilities is still far ahead of the curve, not just Baby Boomers either, but most millennials as well.
  • Tnt Studios Inc.
Chief Marketing Director And Art Director
    Tnt Studios Inc. 1984 - 1992
TnT Studios began as a design studio but quickly evolved into a dynamic direct marketing agency, printed advertising, video productions, conventions and booth designs. Our clientele read like the Fortune 500 for the Bay Area during the 1980s and we built the agency up to over 40 employees, 10,000 sq feet of office and warehouse in Redwood Shores, CA.We were one of the first agencies to embrace the Macintosh PC into our art department as well as on the desks of all sales people. We became one of the first beta testing agencies for Adobe with Illustrator and Photoshop. In 1986 I decided to network the accounting's 286 PC's client data list giving access to the sales people, utilizing Microsoft Works data merge abilities thereby allowing the sales people to focus on existing clients, instead of always hunting out new clients. This action, called data mining, exploded our sales revenue from around $150,000 per month to $2 million per month. We road this giant wave until 1990, shortly after the catastrophic 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. TnT Studios became racked with frivolous lawsuits (us collecting chronic bad debts, defending against false work comp claims, employees stealing proprietary information, etc.), forced to close down the printing facility due to OSHA and California demands to invest millions to clean the venting air from the printing facility, the constant never ending California Franchise Tax Board audits, high taxes, etc., we decided to shut the entire enterprise down, take the best business home and move to Washington State.Interesting note: Two years after closing TnT Studios Inc. down moving to Washington (we sold our home too), California sent me a letter informing me I owed over $300,000 in taxes from a year after TnT Studios had been closed and that they had put a lean on the home we no longer owed.I learned a lot about business from TnT Studios, and made incredible friends as well as experience an historical event that changed the world.
  • Artist
    Entrepreneur
    Artist Jan 1978 - Jan 1981
After leaving Bankima's and well practiced in the art of Scrimshaw, I left Santa Cruz in 1978 for Whidby Island with cash in pocket and my little Fiat 124 station wagon packed. I had enough money to buy about 100lbs of Mastodon ivory, unearthed artifacts Walrus via the Alaskan pipe line and 20 antique whale teeth. After moving into a beach house on Whidby Island, I began the process of developing serious artworks as I studied from the masters at Alaskan Ivory and Silver in Bellingham. Artist like Gary Dorning, Michael Cohen, and Chris Lehwalder. This became known as the renaissance in Scrimshaw and the "West Coast" school. I found my work inspired and began to be collected as one of the top scrimshanders in San Francisco, Lahaina, Mystic Seaport, Seattle, but that is getting ahead of this important story that changed me forever.Up to this point, I was a surf bum living in Santa Cruz I did pot farming and had a small art studio where I made jewelry, pen and inks, and some ivory work.As an entrepreneur, I didn't hit big time success until I separated from the drug culture of Santa Cruz and moved to the North West @Whidby Island in Washington State. I set up shop and started producing museum level work. By the end of the summer, I had 100+ museum quality pieces.I headed to Seattle and I put my last dime in the parking meter in front of the first gallery. I met the owner, showed the work. She bought $26,000 worth of work and pre ordered another $50,000 worth of scrimshaw. My day ended at pier 41 where I had sold everything. For several years the work flowed with $50,000 per month at the peak. But the 1982 recession loomed and when it hit, I found myself with pre orders canceling, galleries closing and consignments lost.Partially caused by the Walrus massacre of 1981 and fueled by soaring interest rates and recession, this ride was over. I found myself trekking back to California to live on a friends couch until I evolved into an ad agency in 1984.
  • Bankima Enterprises
    Scrimshaw Artist
    Bankima Enterprises Jan 1976 - Jan 1977
Being a detailed oriented artist, extreme pointillism and ink drawing I was recommended to do Scrimshaw work at Bankima Enterprises. I went on from there and moved to Whidby Island and began work with Alaskan Silver and Ivory. My work was considered top 10, and sold for 5 figured to collectors until the bottom of the market dropped out in 1982. That is when I moved back to San Fransico and started a design agency that turned into TnT Studios.
  • California Redwood Studios
    Overcomer Entrepreneur Surfer Artist
California Redwood Studios Jan 1972 - Jan 1976
The Struggle1st 4 Years as an adult Within a year of graduating High School with a 3.8 GPA and many awards and accolades as well as meeting death twice, whereas 2 girlfriends met their untimely death at the hands of murderers, both during 11th grade, I brushed close to death shortly after HS. Perhaps looking back, this was the foreshadowing of the strange winding road I was to travel. I went to a house party in Loma Linda Orange County in California not far from my Dad's home (where I was living). I was now attending Cypress Junior College, taking basic courses for an AA degree and many art classes. I met a girl in art class and she invited me to this party.During the party with copious amounts of alcohol, keggers, spiked punch, drinks etc. you know, a typical college drunken party. However, this event had someone spike the punch with a meth, angel dust, LSD, PCP and who knows what. I was a victim along with 54 people who died from seizures and overdose and another 30 some people wound up in a mental facility and then there was me. At first (according to my date) I went into a convulsive seizure then ran off into the surrounding hillsides. This drug induced psychosis lasted for about a week where I was left to survival instincts and hiding on the streets of Orange County with no idea who or what I was, as my inner voice was gone. Very strange tail indeed. I eventually discovered who I was then found my way home to suffer the wrath of my father.Shortly after that, I was able to travel to Santa Cruz to live with a friend in Boulder Creek to recover and eventually found myself building a small home far into the woods in a very huge redwood stump. It was there I began recovery. The rest of the storyhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/california-redwood-studios
