Co‐founded and built TSS from start-up to multimillion‐dollar annual sales and profitability. Managed 45 employees, while serving clients across avionics and RF communication organizations ranging from less than 10 employees to Fortune 500 organizations. Developed and institutionalized project management, engineering, quality assurance, human resources and financial standard processes to CMMI Level 3 registration/Level 5 compliance, as well as AS9100 registration and PMI compliance. Led the business to not only survive, but prosper through one of the worst industry downturns in history, increasing profits by 103% from 2010-2012. TSS was the only subcontractor to a major avionics system provider to consistently receive “Meets or Exceeds All Expectations” for the world’s two largest airframe manufacturers.Led with focus and urgency, establishing an innovative certification approach for a major defense contractor’s navigation equipment. Prevented grounding of state-of-the-art fighter aircraft, over $100 million dollars in fines and congressional review. Established cross-team customer consensus for a common certification system and processes for a major commercial avionics system provider, reducing per project labor costs by $75k and per project capital costs by $50-$100k on projects with typical budgets of less than $1MMRe-engineered engineering and quality assurance processes for a major avionics system provider based on dramatically increased quality requirements of one of two of the world’s largest airframe manufacturer’s. Designed and developed largest capacity telecommunications switching system in the industry by redesigning 1960s solution to use state-of-the-art technologies and out-of-the-box solutions. Quadrupled industry switching capabilities while reducing manufacturing costs by over 80%.Provided early development testing of microprocessor for the largest integrated circuit manufacturer in the world. Successfully identified issues related to transfer of PC technologies to the embedded market resulting in microprocessor becoming one of the most successful in the embedded market selling over 3 million units in its first 2 years.
