Working under contract through my LLC, Silicon Valley Payments, I served as the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) for Sarafu Mobile Payments App (fka AzamPay Ltd). The product is deployed in Tanzania. Sarafu allows business to pay for goods ordered from a manufacturer, based on integration with ERP systems. Clients have the ability to order goods and pay electronically. Believed to be one of the first, if not the first, wallets that allow real time, direct bank payments in Africa. The East African market, and the African market generally, represent huge potential for Fintech. Led First Data's product development effort for compliance with new IRS mandates for merchant transaction reporting. Led development teams, requirements gathering, developed budget, positioned product for the market.

Acquired strategic partnerships with foreign banks and other payment processors in support of First Data's global acquiring business. Negotiated partner agreements in Australia, Europe, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong. Directed market entry and start up activities.

Developed new products in support of First Data's international acquiring. Secured strategic partner agreement with an Irish company, led the integration effort, positioned product in the market for success.

Kinzan.com (later Kinzan Inc.) provided web enablement and eCommerce services. I led the effort for four major sales.

Established and managed First Data’s entry into Mexican market. Led the conversion team, which resulted in three large conversions in December 1994. Set up and managed services teams in Mexico City and in Omaha, Nebraska.
