Reverse engineered existing equipment from electrical schematics and software to write requirements documentation for clean room re-implementation. Partner in a company performing custom Battery Electric Conversion vehicles, and designing parts, systems and kits. Converted many gas fueled vehicles to electric, designing driveline, adapters, battery mounting, air conditioning and electrical systems. Designed Lithium Ion battery management systems including board layout, and production and embedded software. Each system was customized to several vehicles with full telemetry (Wifi, Cellular), balancing and feedback to the operator.Reverse engineered Mazda 3 proprietary PCM CANBUS communications. Designed replacement computer to interface electric drivetrain components to the body electronics. New module restored dash functionality, power steering control and anti-theft system lost when engine and factory PCM were removed. Integration is seamless, and all electric drive functions operate identically to the original gas fueled system.
