ChairpersonNorth East Lincolnshire Ccg Jul 2012 - Jul 2022North East LincolnshireFrom Non exec Director of the unique Care Trust Plus, through to Chair of North East Lincolnshire CCG, I have been part of the drive for integration across Health and Adult social care, as a way to improve and grow the responsive and effective Health and care services we offer our community. If we are to deliver for our population, In a climate of less money and increasing demand, then it is leadership that combines entrepreneurial attitudes and strategic thinking, that surrounds itself with challenging, dedicated and talented people, whilst never shrinking from making the difficult but right decisions, that is needed now more than ever before. -
Owner/Managing DirectorCleethorpes Chronicle Mar 2008 - Aug 2017CleethorpesBack in 2008, well after a decade in the newspaper industry, I decided to strike out on my own and launch a local weekly newspaper, that stood for quality journalism, and a local newspaper owned and run by people who had a stake in the area they served. The Cleethorpes Chronicle was launched by a partnership between myself and our Editor, Nigel Lowther. Just after launching, it became apparent that we were entering into the worst recession this country had seen in a long while, but despite this, we knew we had a good solid product and a sound business idea. More importantly we needed to be able to offer local businesses an alternative and less expensive way to advertise locally. With a great advertising team and an excellent band of journalists, the newspaper thrived. With a growing readership of over 40,000 ABC1 adults every week, The Chronicle became an established part of local media. Described by most as a 'very good read' we focused on our newspaper being informative and entertaining and something our readers looked forward to every week. In this world of digital information, websites, news feeds, and social media, The Chronicle provided an oasis of well informed, well written and balanced news stories, that were best consumed over a cup of tea and half an hour of calm! The Chronicle, covering Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Scarthoe, Healing, Great Coates, Humberston, Holton le clay, Waltham, Brigsley and Immingham was proud to be the only weekly newspaper in North East Lincolnshire for nearly ten years. Sadly, a shrinking print advertising market and a tough economic climate saw the company close in August 2017.
