For Knights of Columbus, led a team of developers in the design, development and implementation of a Self-service reporting application that provided customers with the capability to define their own reports and launch execution themselves via the web. Previously, KofC reports were largely launched via ReportCaster batch scheduling software. This new tool moved KofC into the 21st century in terms of Business Intelligence capabilities. Development was performed using WebFOCUS 7.6, SQL, Javascript and HTML. Additional testing/analyses were performed utilizing AQT Advanced Query Tool and MS Access.For Knights of Columbus, led a team of developers in remediating over 400 reports to utilize the newly constructed Policy and Agency datamarts. Special attention was paid to reducing run time costs through coding optimization techniques. The most successful technique was instituting 'Common Table Expression' within the SQL code, frequently resulting in a 90% reduction in run time. For Knights of Columbus, developed a 'Best Practices and Coding Standards' document that served as the department's Policies and Procedures for WebFOCUS and SQL developers.

Leader of Corporate Information Technology Systems team that analyzed and retrofit 200 report programs and wrote many new reports from a new data warehouse source. HIG had outsourced various operations to an outside vendor, resulting in new data feeds to the company's new Peoplesoft data warehouse (EPM). The Data Modeling tasks were performed within a diverse group including IT colleagues and business customers. Report delivery was both customer initiated via HIG's intranet EPM Reporting site and associated Dashboard and Report Caster (scheduled execution and delivery via email.) ETL processes were managed via Ascential DataStage v7.5. Report programs were changed to access new ORACLE database tables, the major task being to retrofit existing WebFOCUS 7.1.1 and SQL code to utilize these tables. To add value, I streamlined processes, improved the organization of WebFOCUS-related constructs, redesigned HTML and Javascript parameter pages, combined like-minded programs to decrease maintenance costs and rewrote programs to utilize either WebFOCUS or SQL code to gain efficiencies. Additional testing/analyses were performed utilizing SQL Tools, SQL Plus, PL/SQL and MS Access. Ongoing tasks consisted of new report development as well as Production support for existing and newly outsourced applications.

The system had resided in a CMS VM/ESA environment utilizing FOCUS 6.8 under EXEC, EXEC2 and REXX. Tested all system functionalities and made coding changes where necessary.
