About Mark Fosdike

As an engineer-turned-tech CEO with over 13 years of industry experience, I have witnessed the rise of AI and big data, and their ability to transform the way we work. However, I also noticed that most enterprises were still relying on low-tech processes that were holding their frontline workers back. This realization led me to co-found Datch, an innovative AI company whose mission is to radically simplify frontline work for industrial enterprises worldwide. My journey began in Australia as an aerospace engineer and later took me to the UK, where I worked across the entire manufacturing process - from engineering design, testing, validating, to working with customers through deployment. It was during this time that I noticed how much time frontline workers were spending on repetitive work management tasks like completing work orders, capturing safety information, and carrying out procedures. This was holding them back and bleeding away their productivity, without them even realizing it.To unlock the true potential of an organization's data, frontline workers needed a solution that could guide them intuitively and converse with them.As a builder obsessed with applying tech to real-world needs, I saw this as a chance to bring AI into the familiar but often overlooked world of the industrial frontline. So I grabbed my friend (and by then, co-founder) Ben Purcell by the collar, and spent a month traveling all over the UK and Ireland to investigate. We spoke to countless frontline managers to understand the struggles industrial enterprises faced in their daily work. This is when we discovered the "input problem" - that countless hours were spent interacting with important legacy systems and eating up valuable time.Today, Datch enables customers across various industries, including manufacturing, energy & utility, and mining, to make faster and better decisions with intelligent insights. By simplifying their work and making it more intuitive, we boost efficiency for our customers while increasing the quality of knowledge gathered from the frontline. When I am not thinking all things Datch or technology, you’ll find me writing music, playing my guitar, and experimenting with all kinds of genres - from blues to EDM.
