Profile bio

About Mark Friess

Dynamic COO/Integrator delivering operations execution, innovation, transformation, agility, and viability through servant leadership and dedicated vision working with powerful CEOs/Visionaries on full-time and fractional opportunities.I’m an entrepreneurial Chief Operating Officer, Board Member, EIR, and CEO with more than 20 years of successful experience accelerating and scaling business growth of leading technology organizations from the ground up. I’ve been able to propel cutting-edge strategies forward, especially after founding and growing 2 companies. After raising $3 million in angel investments and $1 million in debt financing for one of those companies, I led that organization to a 7.4x revenue acquisition within 8 years. In another senior role I led the creation of a consolidated 36-month strategic operations plan for 4 newly merged corporate divisions with a combined $150 million-dollar P&L. With those and many other operational experiences under my belt I am ready to hit the ground running and pursue my next rewarding, yet challenging opportunity. In my most recent role as the COO for The Dyrt, after joining and leading operations, the organization has experienced 5x revenue growth and I have supported 3 rounds of financing totaling $20.5 million as the company scaled app subscribers and web traffic with 40+ million annual visits to the site. The Dyrt became the #1 camping app on Apple and Android app stores as a result. For a key initiative I successfully orchestrated the companywide team expansion from 25 to 50 employees, leveraging my operations leadership capabilities to oversee all recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing performance reviews while remaining under budget. This is only one of several mission-critical initiatives where I was able to apply my operations expertise to contribute to the growth of The Dyrt.As a hands-on Chief Operating Officer, I whole-heartedly believe in serving as a change agent and engaging closely with the CEO, President, and Visionary leaders while drawing on people’s strengths to empower them to exceed their own expectations. Fostering a culture of encouragement, innovation, and drive requires determination, motivation, and critical decision making. That’s where I thrive. I work with disruptive CEO's and amazing teams to identify areas of improvement that will help team members and the company grow and and achieve unprecedented results.
