Mark Gentile is a software executive, entrepreneur, and strategist with over 25 years of experience in commercial software business management, engineering, architecture, and research. He has specialized in the areas of cyber security, modern operating systems and devices, wireless technologies, and cloud software architectures. Mark currently serves as Chief Architect for Endpoint Security Products at Symantec Enterprise Division, Broadcom Inc., the world’s leading enterprise cyber security company. Enterprises across the world rely on Symantec Enterprise Division products for integrated cyber defense against sophisticated attacks across endpoints, infrastructure, and cloud. He is a passionate leader who strives for excellence, helping teams deliver high-quality market-leading commercial software. In 1996, Gentile founded Odyssey Software and served as the company's Chairman, CEO, and President until Symantec Corp. acquired the company in March 2012. His leadership, vision, and ability to bring best-in-class products to market were instrumental in establishing Odyssey Software as a recognized leader in the mobile market and which earned him recognition as the Rochester Business Association and Small Business Council's Business Person of the Year in 2011. Mark was also honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award from the RIT Alumni Association in 2014. He is a modern and mobile operating system industry expert and is frequently interviewed by press and analysts on current issues and trends as well as speaking at various industry events. Mark also serves as a mentor and advisor to several technology start-ups. Mr. Gentile is a graduate Rochester Institute of Technology.
