Founder and co-owner of Pizza Shuttle, a top rated, family-owned independent pizzeria on Milwaukee's East Side. Known for our quirky marketing and branding, and specializing in specialty pizza, late night dining, delivery, and large catering orders, Pizza Shuttle has been serving our community since 1985.I form lasting bonds with many employees, staying involved in their personal and professional development over time. I try to relate to everyone. People may not think of me as a mentor right away, but come to appreciate the small lessons I impart as they move through their next life stages. I strive to be an example, not define what people must do. I remain accessible and have many lessons and stories through years of experience. I get several calls a year from old employees that want to reconnect, tell me about an upcoming marriage, child, or life milestone, or simply that they are back in town and want to get a drink. Others stop in the restaurant and leave a note, gift, or send an e-mail. When a long-time employee graduated from technical school, he asked my wife and I to share graduation dinner with his parents.I have been in my community for over 30 years and people know that they can call me up anytime. I rarely turn down fundraiser request. I don’t always promote our charitable contributions, but I do it because it’s good for business and I like to give back to the community that provides me with an opportunity every day. I have given over a half-million dollars in the past 30 years in community support. I have found my calling in this industry and I am grateful that I can use this opportunity to give back to my family, employees, and community.
