Provided contractor services to develop user interface displays for the monitoring of smart power grid system. Primary responsibilities included: the use of Autocad software with the addition of General Electric XA/21 SCADA software to draft schematics for computer displays that provide real time monitoring of an electrical power grid. Practical knowledge and the use of Autocad software was fundamental to the development of the computer displays while using proprietary customer software to incorporate database information to the schematics for development of user interface computer displays. Organize the activities of a 20 person team and assist team members as required to complete the required drawings and interface a vast Oracle database to the electrical schematics.

The primary responsibilities of this position were to support the sales staff, service staff, and customer base within the continental United States with engineering documentation, installation assistance and analysis of equipment problems. The daily tasks included but were not limited to:> Conduct site inspection, take notes on installation conditions, record building measurements and existing services. Develop installation plan with customer and subcontractors. Document installation procedure and provide critical information for handling of large machinery components. Draft architectural floor plans to incorporate equipment into customer’s facility.> Prepare reinforced concrete foundation plans and installation diagrams including electrical and pneumatic services required. Detail any building modifications or special services required for efficient installation of machinery.> Size accessory equipment such as air conditioning units for electrical cabinets, hydraulic units, pumps, and review local codes to adapt machinery to local market.> Prepare comprehensive technical documentation such as service manuals, maintenance manuals, electrical schematics, and support documents for warranty conditions.> Provide technical support to service group and customer base by interpreting mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. Conduct analysis of machinery related service issues, interpret data and formulate appropriate solutions to problems.

Responsibilities included, but were not limited to: supervision of multiple concurrent projects across the United States. Coordinate the efforts of a 15 to 20 person work force and outside contractors to complete individual projects ranging from $30,000 - $ 500,000. Designed machine retrofit and rebuild packages for Northrop Grumman, Sikorsky Aircraft, Textron Aero Structures, Boeing, Fairchild Republic, AHF Ducommun and a variety of smaller corporations. Highlighted Projects completed include, but are not limited to:> Designed custom machinery for producing large complex 5 axis machined components for the United States aerospace market. Supervised Manufacture and Installation of Equipment in customers facility.> Designed various components and drive systems for a multitude of production equipment used throughout the Automotive Mold and Aerospace Industries.

Responsibilities of this position entailed the design of metal working equipment per customers requirement. Each project required the design of the system, detail of components and the management of the manufacture of the final product. > Designed milling spindle for mold making industry capable of 6000 rpm that could be mounted in a modular form for multiple spindle applications. > Participated in a joint venture with the Peoples Republic of China to design and manufacture multi-spindle machinery for the United States Mold making industry.

Position included in-house work and fieldwork across the United States assisting engineers with rebuilding and retrofitting projects. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: taking detailed field notes and measurements for retrofit projects and converted notes into working drawings that provided engineers with basis for design concepts. Detailing of electro-mechanical subassemblies, welded fabrications, castings, mechanical components and wiring schematics. Prepared bills of materials and worked with venders to obtain bids on components and services required to complete retrofit projects. Interfaced with outside venders, manufacturing and production areas to answer questions and note changes to be incorporated in future projects.
