About Mark H. Griesbaum
My ambition was always to become the leader of a technology department that would be instrumental in making a significant impact in an organization. In March of 2000, after 19 years in the Financial Services Industry, I received that opportunity by becoming the CIO of Career Education Corporation (CEC), a for-profit higher education public company. CEC had revenue of $200MM in 2000 and through a well-built technology infrastructure and cadre of business applications, CEC became a dominant player in the industry by its ability to integrate and successfully absorb other colleges’ operations into our infrastructure. Architecting this growth plan resulted in CEC growing to more than $2.0B in just 5 years, from 20 colleges and 25,000 students to more than 80 colleges and 100,000+ students.Over the past 4 years as SVP of Operations for TCS Education System, I applied my visioning and strategy skills to help them grow from $80MM to $140MM in revenue through organic growth and integrating additional colleges’ operations into the TCS infrastructure. This required a well-planned and architected technology infrastructure and business operation to systematically grow the organization in all aspects.Throughout my career my passion was addressing the challenges of leading and implementing major change initiatives that repositions companies for success. I enjoy being “called” upon to solve an issue, and then forming a team to “get it done”. The most enjoyable aspect of my work was developing others to realize their potential and grow their careers.
