Mark Guinée is a Dutch National (1968) with a MSc in Hydraulic Engineering from the Faculty of Civil Engineering (1993) at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.Upon completing his studies he joined Interbeton, then the international arm of the HBG Group. When Royal BAM acquired HBG, Interbeton became BAM International. Royal BAM Group of the Netherlands is one of Europe's top ten contractors by volume.At BAM Mark spent 27 years working across five continents in various leading business roles, from project acquisition and development to the execution and final account settlements of larger-scale multidisciplinary EPC projects in the Oil & Gas and Mining & Minerals industries.His career started with road construction in Ghana followed by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Parallel Crossing Project near Virginia Beach, VA, USA. Roles varied from engineering and reporting to planning and subcontract management.In 1999 Mark and family returned to Ghana, West Africa, to lead a road construction project in Ghana followed by a drainage (river training) project in the heart of the capital Accra. In 2005 Mark moved on to Dubai and took up the role of Contracts and Operations Manager Marine for BAM International's Gulf Area, covering UAE, Oman, Qatar and Jordan. Upon the wind down of the ME market and the spike of the Australian Oil & Gas developments Mark in 2010 moved on to Perth, Australia to lead the BAM Clough Joint Venture. This JV operated in the near shore marine construction business in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Projects were EPC's in the Oil & Gas and Mining & Minerals sectors. In this capacity Mark also served as Area Director Australia for BAM International.Early 2017 he returned home to the BAM Head Offices in the Netherlands to assume the position of Director Business Development.In April 2019 Mark stationed in British Columbia, Canada to resolve matters on BAM’s RTA Wharf Project for LNG Canada and lead BAM’s business in Northern America. As a consequence of the BAM Group announcement in 2020 of the upcoming wind down of BAM international Mark’s role ended in 2021.Mark then decided to broaden his horizon beyond BAM and since October 2021 Mark has returned to his second homeland Ghana and joined Nguvu Mining. There he brings his global multi- disciplinary project acquisition and delivery experience to this fast-growing mid-size West African mineral producer with various mines across the region in various stages of development.Mark is happily married to Janet, who hails from Ghana, together they have two beautiful daughters.
