◦ Monitored, maintained, and repaired electronic, cryogenic, and vacuum systems for CDMS and CoGeNT dark matter projects.◦ Monitored and maintained cryogenic systems and managed sample handling for Gopher and SOLO low-background counting projects.◦ Performed daily data check on MINOS neutrino oscillation detector, troubleshot and repaired/replaced electronic components.◦ Monitored and adjusted cryogenic gas usage for multiple projects, ordered and replaced cryogenic supply, and repaired cryogenic and vacuum line connections and gas liquefiers.◦ Worked extensively with liquid helium, nitrogen, and argon as well as compressed helium, nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide.◦ Performed computer maintenance for all project computers (Windows and Linux).◦ Participated in construction projects including raising an 80-foot radio antenna, stringing fiber optic cable down a 2341-foot shaft, and erecting a liquid helium liquefier support structure.◦ Performed GPS and cesium clock calibration and synchronization checks.◦ Member of the safety rescue team.◦ Participated in safety equipment maintenance, documentation, and scenario training.◦ Installed and maintained a multiple-project electronic logbook server.◦ Corresponded with engineers and scientists on each project to discuss operation, issues, and long-term goals.

Research focus: Water shield photomultiplier tube characterization and muon flux measurement for the LUX dark matter search•Proposed, designed, and carried out experiments to understand and characterize photomultiplier tube response to various signals.• Studied techniques used by groups doing similar research by reading and understanding published and unpublished papers.• Determined the most efficient method for data analysis, wrote software to carry out the analysis, and interpreted the results of the software.• Performed troubleshooting on any problems that arose in equipment, software, or mathematical analysis.• Worked at LUX facility at Sanford Laboratory on various projects as requested.• Worked underground at Sanford Laboratory for colleagues’ projects as requested.
