I am a visual and performing artist, web and graphic designer, writer and educator. Being an arts educator provides me with a professional umbrella that allows me to concurrently be creative in other endeavors in a meaningful way. I've chosen "Media Production" as my primary expertise, partly because a more precise description isn't listed, but also because, as someone who's worked in radio and in both print and electronic media as well as being an artist, communication in all its forms is at the core of my being. As an educator, I'm certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to teach Visual Arts and Communication & Performing Arts, primary & secondary levels, and English, History and Social Studies, secondary level. I also hold a Broadcaster’s License from the FCC. As someone who learned web design in the now-seemingly-ancient '90s and who's now plumbing the possibilities of social media, I'm able to be a non-technophobic adult resource for students whose digital nativity is second nature - a rare thing. My professional goal continues to be an advocate for - and access to - the continual synthesis of art, education and technology.Specialties: SOFTWARE: Photoshop, Quark Xpress, MSW, Flash, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro/Express, and HTML scripting, in particularPAINTING & ILLUSTRATION: Charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, pen & ink, watercolor (Chinese & European styles), acrylics, and oil & egg tempera, in particular. WRITING & EDITING: Including commercial copy for radio, editing & writing original content for on-line textbook, and a reading comprehension of Spanish & French.
