Director Of Applications Engineering Sbu
Sr. Applications Engineer
Sr. NAND Applications Engineer focusing on Advanced NAND Flash Applicaitons.
Nand Flash Product Engineering Manager
I was brought in to Micron to work on a specific technology being developed and using Generic Array Logic that I had worked on at Lattice Semiconductor. After proving the technology, I was assigned to bring up the NOR Flash Product Engineering group. We grew this group from about 5 people to > 125 people. This expanded to include Wireless Flash about the time that I began the NAND Flash Product Engineering group. Starting with 5 people we grew to about 200 in 4 years. We successfully partnered with Intel in a joint venture which launched IMFT. A year later I retired from Semiconductor Engineering and started a medical recruiting company, Alpine Medical Careers.
Test Engineering Manager
I started working at Bipolar Integrated Technology (BIT) as a Product Engineer. As my interests were more on the Design and Characterization side, I went into the Test Engineering Department (as BIT defined Product Engineers almost as Project Engineers). I developed the Characterization and Testing platforms used at BIT as well as got the small production Probe, Burn In and Test Floors started.BIT worked with Floating Point Chips as well as RISC Microprocessors with MIPS and Sun.
Product Engineer
Lattice Semiconductor was my first job out of School. I was their first technician hired at Lattice and was one of the first 100 employees ever hired. In the start up atmosphere, I gained valuable experience as an engineer and was promoted to Engineer in 15 months. I gained experience in every aspect of Semiconductor Product Engineering in a very short time as we were in a race with time and not enough Engineers. I worked on starting up Probe and Probe test programs, Test and Tester handler programs, Reliability, Quality, Tester evaluations and Characterization.
