I worked with with universities, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutes to help them with their equipment or consumables needs to meet their research goals. Started up Vets4Pets St Neots, a veterinary clinic franchise where I worked with a great team to deliver quality client and patient focused care, with the client experience being a key part of our clinic. In the first two years we registered over 1500 clients, I worked with some truly outstanding people in this practice and set up a good foundation for continued growth.

I developed and marketed education events for veterinary and animal care professionals across four education centers in the United Kingdom. Inheriting a challenging brief in 2012, at the end of 4 years CAW had a refreshed, profitable CPD program that exceeded all financial and attendance targets.I also redeveloped CAW's annual TP Congress in 2013, the UK's leading veterinary nurse training conference. With a new clinical coach focus, this event attracts leading figures on education and vet nurse regulation from both inside and outside the veterinary profession, growing over 50% in attendance in the last 3 years. Finally, I led the team that launched Head Nurse Congress, the UK's first 2 day Congress dedicated to leadership and management challenges in the veterinary nursing team, which generated twice the expected bookings with over 100 attendees at the inaugural event, and attracting nearly a dozen exhibitors at CAW's first commercial exhibition.

I worked as one of six veterinary surgeons in this three branch practice in Dover, Kent. I performed diagnosis and treatment of patients; I saw mainly small animal and some exotic patients. During this time, as part of my duties, I worked as one of the vets for the Folkestone RSPCA branch charity clinic, and did weekly visits to a cat sanctuary in Kent. A large part of my consulting work was sole charge.

I worked as a sole charge veterinary surgeon for a veterinary practice in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I was responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and surgery of companion animals (dogs and cats) exotic pets (mainly parrot species) and a very small proportion of large animal patients. I was responsible for generating business and what by sheer accident turned into the clinic's early efforts at public relations. Dealing with three languages and at least a dozen nationalities, I got lots of practice getting a point across in clear, simple terms. Sometimes, anyway.
