Living in Grand Junction since 1993 has afforded me experiences that have helped me become well- rounded. I moved here in order to accept a position working and serving “at-risk” youth living in out-of-home placements. My competence in listening skills grew during those eight years, and I believe this is an essential skill needed to provide the best understanding to help borrowers make solid home loan decisions that meet their specific needs. I also spent four years as co-owner of a coffee shop, seven years as an independent businessperson helping people protect their assets and save for retirement through a financial services company, and I currently direct the choir and lead the youth ministries at my church, in addition to mortgage lending. Through these experiences, I have gained first hand knowledge of the market, and understand the need to control certain costs, such as housing.
