About Mark Hopkins

I joined Ford in 1972 in the Ford Customer Service Division, when "No Unhappy Owners" was the marketing theme. Starting in Dearborn, Mi. as a Statistician and achieved Management role in less than five years. I served in a variety of Management/Leadership positions throughout the North and South East, traveling the US extensively, and was responsible for business in Canada, Mexico and Venezuela.I relocated nine times and lived in Louisiana, Michigan (three times), Ohio (twice), Kentucky, Virginia and New Jersey, Retiring as Dealer Operations Manager, at age 54. I developed a college level course in Fixed Operations (for Ford Motor Company and the Holman Automotive Group) in 2001, and served as the instructor for the first class held at Burlington County Community College (New Jersey) in 2002. I have completed successful business consultations for multiple line dealers.I was a top service employee at Newgen Results and served as consultant and account manager ( to all makes Dealerships, including imports) for Mobile Productivity, Inc (Newgen was, and MPI is, a Les Silver company) during 'retirement'. I serve in multiple volunteer services to my community, including Mediator in Burlington Superior Court. I am currently on my third term as a member of the Board of our Community Property Owner Association.I am in the process of writing a book or series of books on Dealership Operations, focusing on efficient and profitable operation with high Customer Satisfaction.I live near Wilmington, NC, and play golf when I am able.I have raced competitively since the age of 14 and now I follow Formula One passionately. I enjoy watching other Motorsports venues.
