    At Utah Education and Telehealth Network (UETN/UEN), our vision is to reduce the educational digital divide through ideas that began right here in our little community and have gained traction across the country. In 2018, our own, Jason Eyre at Murray School District, a dear friend and mentor, started the idea of extending the classroom to students at home using CBRS before the pandemic. This project has exploded with national and international attention no one expected. Schools and organizations across the country have been following our lead ever since. We are changing the future of education, not just in our communities but across the country. As a member of Utah’s visionary leadership team, I’m building and testing use cases of extending the classroom to where students are located with CBRS and Wifi. Our Private LTE and 5G (CBRS) network continues to grow and expand across the school districts in the state. We are pushing eduroam across rural K12 schools and sites to staff and even some students.My passion is wireless technologies and building ways that wireless can improve our world. My specific role with these projects has evolved to a leadership role in directing new use cases from the across the stack with our LTE Core, a demo 5G SA Core, pushing the RAN, UE, and Edge, to exploring and teaching about Wi-Fi 6e, eduroam, and OpenRoaming. I personally have met with and helped CTO and Product Managers, who are respected wireless industry leaders, to better understand how Private LTE is changing education.I served as Interim IT Director for Daggett School District from Fall 2021-Spring 2022 as part of my regular responsibilities. My regular day job responsibilities at NUES, a subsidy of UETN, are to lead and direct Network and Security Engineering with nine rural School Districts and five Charter Schools covering 33,500+ Students, Educators, and Staff.

This position at my family's business started me in understanding business operations and management. Originally, I started in operations of cooking hamburgers and making shakes at the Dairy Keen as well as cleaning the pool and helping the maids with preparing rooms at the Swiss Alps Inn motel. While at WCI, I coordinated with a company to developed a portal based store front for dental implant supplies using a proprietary shopping cart and CMS. I developed the design, layout, and interactive functionality of the site in HTML, CSS, and Javascript then the third party company used my files to create a skin for their CMS and shopping cart. The store front provides alumni with an ease of use location to purchase supplies.I worked with management and the design team to assess strengths and weaknesses of the current websites and to determine future opportunities and needs required in a redesign of the company websites. I managed the process through the SDLC guidelines and developed new company websites design and functionality with WordPress CMS as the back end. I finished the development of the custom theme and functionality and was waiting on content from my superiors when my employment ended with the company for personal and political reasons. Management decided to not use the new designs. Before redesigning the website, I worked to update the content and the layout to reflect the company's current direction as the websites show. Maintained the company's web presence on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to create a uniform public view of the business.Supported company technology infrastructure and looked for ways in which technology could help achieve business goals or improve productivity for assistants and doctors.
