My professional and personal quest has always been to encourage children's development as lifelong learners. I’ve taught all ages, and at every level I strive to open doors to the knowledge and wonder that our world offers. As a realist, I know that our nation and planet face enormous challenges, but I continue to believe in the capacity of human creativity and ingenuity to tackle these problems. Through careful examination and reading of information (scientific, environmental, historical, current, and literary) students can attain the kinds of problem solving skills they need to be constructive citizens of the 21st century.
