Working for the Chief Executive I was engaged to develop and execute strategic options for the organisation to maximise investor value. This includes acquisition and disposal options, market approach and proposition, operational process improvements, organisational structural change and identification of anticipated financial improvement. Operational responsibilities included oversight and support of a number of projects, stabilisation of an offshore software development programme and establishment of an internal Transformation capability.

On 11th December 2005 the Buncefield Oil blast severely impacted the Northgate business operation with its Hemel Hempstead Head Office and over 200 Hosting clients being affected. Appointed as Business Recovery Director by the Chief Executive on the morning of the incident my role was to lead a cross business programme team to ensure continuity of the Northgate business. This challenging role required exceptional leadership, planning, and focus. Activities and achievements have included;Assembly, co-ordination and direction of over 120 technical and programme staff to recover customer and internal systemsRecovery of 212 customer systems to support BACs transactions in excess of £1.7Billion in December 2005Identification and management of fit out and migration to replacement properties including new Head Office and Data Centre.Awarded ‘The most Effective Business Recovery of the Year 2006' award from Continuity Insurance and Risk Management Forum

I was employed to focus on the strategic development of the NIS Managed Services business to complement the existing HR and Public Sector software businesses. With responsibility for Managed Services Sales, Account Management and Consultancy teams I was accountable for the growth of Managed Services through the development of New Business, existing Accounts and an acquisition strategy. Following the acquisition of the Sx3 Organisation I was appointed to lead the integration of the Sales, Account Management and Delivery teams focussed on delivery of Managed Services to Local Government and Corporate sectors.

As a member of the Siemens Business Services GB&I Executive Board I reported to the SBS GB&I CEO with P&L responsibility for the development and delivery of Solution and Software Services. Responsibilities included full P&L the SBS Business Solutions and Consulting portfolio and leadership of 450 people onshore plus offshore services.Initially tasked with the development of a new Solutions business unit and go to market strategy, this necessitated the development of Solution based propositions and the integration of disparate consulting and technical groups from across the Siemens UK business. Sales and Consultancy teams were focused on Manufacturing, Financial Services and Government sectors to develop both standalone Solutions opportunities and Outsourcing propositions in support of ITO and BPO opportunities. These additional revenues, along with tight fiscal management and effective delivery, resulted in a financial turnaround in the soltuions operational business.
