Co-op placement, concurrent with my Master's degree, in the Acoustics and Vibrations group at Bombardier Aerospace.Conducted research on Bombardier and competitor aircraft designs to develop first-order concept of important design aspects leading to airframe noise.Familiarized myself with noise pollution laws relating to aircraft and the calculation of certification values.Improved an airframe noise prediction code for the approach phase of a flight. The code was semi-empirical and based on the flight path, aircraft geometry, and aerodynamic properties.Using VBA, modified an Excel spreadsheet with all available test cases to easily update input parameters to the code.
