I am so pleased to be associated with this non profit organization responsible for the Barrie Fair and the new development of a state of the art agricultural facility just south of Barrie. After resigning from the Board to assume the role of General Manager for 7 months a new General Manager has been found to take the Society forward with a good base.

Reporting to the PresidentAsked to assist the owners of a start up company with taking to market a new product line for the building products (stucco) industry.Responsible for initial business plans and developing investor packages to secure a major investor for the company.Involved with product and assembly line development leading to a patent pending process.Part of Sales and Marketing team that developed marketing material and website. The team is close to securing a large retailer as a Customer utilizing Nuclad product on all of its stores.This contract has taken longer than expected due to the recession delaying the securing of a major investor. The building industry appears to be turning positive with a major investor identified and close to being secured.

Reporting directly to the President (Owner)Ended association with the company after securing major financing out of the U.S.A. which involved a commitment from the owner to move the head office control to the U.S.A.Plastic Injection moulding and Automated Assembly Company which peaked at $55 million in sales and over 350 employees at 4 locations. 1996 was 1 plant and less than 50 people in financial distress.QS9000 3rd Edition certified. Canada's Top 50 Managed Company award for 5 years.Responsible for the daily Company operations including production, engineering, quality, finance, material control, purchasing, human resources and computer departments at all locations.Original turnaround situation where the company moved to generating significant positive cash flow and profits. Balance Sheet extremely strong to handle market fluctuations. This led to the "Canada's Top 50 Best Managed" award.Opened second facility to launch Automated Assembly business to meet Business Plan objectives to move to value added business. Third plant purchased in Dec. 2000 in Michigan. Fourth plant in Sept. 2002 to produce tooling and automation internally.Negotiated new banking agreements with a new Banking Institution extending credit to support growth.Union environment with all grievances handled internally. Led successful renewal of union contracts in 2000 and 2005..Quality improvement has Injectech as one of the top suppliers at each of its customers.Responsible for Long Term Business Plan development.Growth generated without internal or external sales force.

Reporting directly to the General ManagerOne of four Senior Managers responsible for sales of $180 Million with booked business going to $250 Million in 1999.Dortec had employees in excess of 1,000 and has 3 locations in Newmarket, Ontario with engineering facilities; In addition to contributing to long term planning and Company direction, direct responsibilities included:FINANCE: Managed the Finance Team responsible for the annual budgeting, Quarterly Forecasts and Monthly Financial Statements.Established financial reporting and simplified the accounting process to provide data necessary to manage the organization. Involved with Capital Expenditure recommendations and preparations for presentation to Corporate Management.Established complex job costing and forecasting module for 125 person Engineering and R&D centre to control approved costs and ensure future costs were reasonable and included in the quoted price.Strong product costing background utilizing Activity Based Costing techniques.SALES:Managed a Sales team that negotiated all new contracts and revisions.Team continually improved margins.Negotiated original Full Service Supplier/System Integrator Pricing with Ford Motor Company.Negotiated engineering recoveries and cancellations.Negotiated foreign exchange contracts with the customer to assure stable margins.PURCHASING:Strong and respected negotiator with annual cost savings of 3-4% on purchases of $90 million.Initiated Long Term Agreements for approximately 90% of direct suppliers.Supply Base Reduction Program extremely successful and to plan.Developed Purchasing Team from 1 Buyer to a full Team of 8.Participated as a member of the Ford World Wide Handle Survey Team determining the sourcing of all Ford future handle programs.M.I.S.:Developed a Team of 6 Members to modernize the company Network and implement an MRP system.Continued to automate and integrate all systems to improve efficiency and controls.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of OperationsRecruited by the V.P. of Operations to assist in overseeing 3 Divisions and the growth of Door Modules using the products of the 3 Divisions.Prepared a Strategic Plan for the consolidation of products to focus engineering and eliminate customer confusion. Basis of plan was implemented 4 years later. Held monthly meetings with Divisional Finance, Human Resources, Sales, Purchasing Managers to pool resources, share successes and adopt common systems and reporting strategies. A unique attempt at the time in Magna's decentralized system.Championed first Supplier Day Conference.Responsibilities included the lead on facilitating a move a division from Niagara Falls to Newmarket into a newly renovated facility.Magna International, C.M.T. Group and KTM Locks

Reporting directly to the General ManagerOne of 3 Senior Managers of $50 to $70 million in sales.Responsible directly for Finance, Purchasing, Materials, Payroll and Office Administration.Daily involvement with day to day Assembly and Press Operations which included reviewing scheduling, line studies to improve efficiency, material flow and inventory accuracy.Obtained inventory reductions of 40-50% and improved cash flow and earnings to best in Atoma within 1.5 years.Championed system implementation and measurables which later resulted in General Motors Mark of Excellence Award.Designed and developed Kanban Inventory System for the Plant.
