This rapid development led to a product that captured customer interest, averaging £5k in sales per month during its initial four months.- Innovative Technical Solutions: Established robust, sustainable systems for automated testing, deployments, and analytics, enhancing the reliability and observability of our production environment.

Senior member of an operational Software and AI Team, attached to key British Army regiment.Personally architected and led development on multiple applications currently in live use by the regiment on operations, spanning multiple teams and locations, across the fields of IoT and Data Science.Team lead for DevSecOps across our 13-strong team - I've introduced modern CI/CD to our ways of working and transformed prototypes to platforms.Deployed forwards to support operations, identifying workflows that could be improved via software automation and delivering solutions that cut routine processes from days to minutes.Extensively mentored junior members of team and developed a department DevOps maturity model with clearly documented best practice, now adopted for use across all projects and endorsed by senior leadership.

Grew a team from 2 to 5 graduate developers, setting up systems of training/mentoring in the process and seeing team members achieve internal certifications and form teams of their own.Delivered an in-progress C++ app to production and led its transformation from a project with no docs/tests/CI to the role model used by other dev teams in our area.Architected and led initial development of a nextgeneration C++ app, handing it off in a stable beta state, and providing excellent stakeholder comms/engagement throughout changing requirements and business needs.Upskilled and set up DevOps leads within my own team and another related team, linking them in with wider communities of practice.This period taught me a great deal about not only technical leadership of the team and the project, but also outward stakeholder/scope managment. I was able to leave the project on a strong footing, and what was even more rewarding was seeing the initial member of my team achieve internal software engineering qualifications and take on a leadership role of his own.

Moving into the field of cyber security within the RAF, I joined a team of C++ engineers to work on an ambitious new cyber security project. I was able to add real value to the project by helping the team to adopt a much more test-based approach to development and finding some quick wins for application of DevOps ideas to automate several laborious development workflows, This not only improved developer quality of life, but also increased the pace of the project and enabled management to have a better idea of the project's health, direction and velocity.

During this period, I was was in charge of delivering corporate IT to a station of 5,000 personnel during a period of great change as we prepared for the arrival of the F-35 Lightning aircraft. This saw me guide my team of 37 through the provisioning and deployment of significant new IT infrastructure to support the move, while also supporting a major MoD-wide IT change program to a new computer system.Within this time I also deployed overseas for 6 months. My overseas role also saw me lead the team responsible for the delivery and maintainance of all MoD IT in that deployed location. The good work that we did there to improve service levels and strengthen business continuity was recongized by me receiving a commendation from Commander Joint Forces.

During this period I undertook my RAF Initial Officer training and Engineer Officer Training at RAF Cranwell and RAF Cosford respectively, undertaking extensive leadership and management training to become a commissioned RAF Engineering Officer.

I worked as part of a team of four interns to develop a web app from scratch and present it at the IBM Extreme Blue European Expo. My particular responsibilities involved the front-end development of a visualisation dashboard for sensor data.
