Effectively leveraged vendors to support the needs of the business and built a strong vendor partnership program. Successfully implemented Oracle ERP and fulfilled Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Led the Bandag R&D organization of 60+ professionals that provided research and development support of new products, equipment, and processes. Managed all research and development activities associated with manufactured rubber products and manufacturing processes. Developed a team culture of “whatever it takes” and implemented a disciplined project management process resulting in a reduction in product-to-market time from 2 years to 8 months. Built partnership with Corporate Marketing leading to a responsive focus on the customer; establishing a method to align R&D activities with the goals of the business. Participated as executive team member involved with corporate strategic planning.

Built and led a Bandag technical support organization that provided services to various research and product development departments. These services included lab operations, shop assembly, product testing, information systems, statistical analysis services, and building maintenance.

Was engineer responsible for the operation and maintenace of oil & gas wells including re-completion of poor performing wells. Designed and oversaw installations of new production equipment. Served in drilling department when required.
