This role involves working as part of a team managing the operation of the network infrastructure for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. This role involved supporting the delivery of IT to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine as part of a central helpdesk team, with particular responsibility for student services (including support of laptop trolleys and use of the wireless network). It also involved extending and developing the converged network infrastructure and services provided by IT Services. This includes the installation, maintenance and development of network hardware and software to staff and students at the School.Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT user support (software & hardware) to both taught students (600), administrative staff and teaching staff (1500) as part of the ITS helpdesk group, within Novel Netware 6.5 networking environment running Windows XP on the desktop.Helping to support and maintain the network infrastructure at LSHTM, diagnosing and fixing both hardware (switches, servers, cables, PCs, phones etc) and desktop related configuration problems. Maintaining and developing the department’s website, describing access to IT services and providing online support and information to our users.Helping to extend and develop the IT and network infrastructure and services provided by IT Services. Working to improve networked services on projects such as Iprint, through Novell Zenworks. Providing user based education in various aspects of IT Services provision and on the ECDL course.
