About Mark Kleback

Mark Kleback is a creative technologist and small business owner based in Brooklyn NY. Together with his wife Stephanie, they co-founded the brooklyn bar and arcade Wonderville in 2019 after a successful crowdfunding campaign. Wonderville is a bar, event space, and gallery for independently-developed arcade games. As of 2024, they have over 30 unique installations built by local artists, many that can only be played at Wonderville.Mark is an experienced creative technologist and electrical engineer. From 2011-2024 he has worked as a contractor and consultant on large advertising campaigns and public art installations. His pieces have been showcased at MoogFest, +Pool, Beam Camp, and Levi's Station to Station campaign.In 2013, Mark started collaborating with local game developers to create new arcade cabinets for their games. The Death By Audio Arcade was incorporated as a 501(c)-3 nonprofit in 2015, and has showcased work at Maker Faire NYC, MAGFest, PlayNYC, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, as well as countless NYC venues. Death By Audio Arcade was rebranded Arcade Commons in 2023.In addition to these arcade cabinets, Mark has also built custom arcade cabinets for corporate clients such as JetBlue, Soylent, Century Link, Twilio, We Are Listen, Museum of the Moving Image, Pratt University, and Quinnipiac University.Mark is also an adjunct professor at NYU. He teaches Analog and Digital Lab at Steinhardt's Music Technology program, and has created the course "The New Arcade" at ITP, where students can learn game design as well as physical computing, electronics, and digital fabrication. He has previously been a teacher at Beam Center and Beam Camp, as well as a facilitator at Decoded.
