Mark Leung is a seasoned corporate commercial lawyer with 10+ years of in-house experience, including 9+ years in the tech industry. Mark is the former General Counsel for GSL Group, a group of companies which span a wide range of industries, including real estate and construction, sports and entertainment, hospitality, and technology. Related to GSL, Mark was also the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for OPBets, a prospective igaming operator for the province of Ontario. Prior to GSL and OPBets, Mark was the Director of Legal at BroadbandTV Corp., a media and tech company that specializes in the distribution, management, and monetization of digital content. Before that, Mark worked as Corporate Counsel and Chief Copywriter for a branding firm that he co-founded during law school, and as a litigation associate at one of Canada's largest national law firms.Mark currently teaches as an Adjunct Professor at UBC's Sauder School of Business, a position he previously held in 2021.Mark also serves as the Chair of the In-House Committee and an Advisor on the Advisory Committee for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (British Columbia) Society (FACL BC). In 2023, he co-founded the organization’s Leadership Academy, a program that is the first of its kind in Canada, which was created to develop the next generation of leaders in the Asian Canadian legal community in BC and address the lack of diversity at organizational leadership levels. Mark has been an instructor since the inception of the program.Mark has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF), FACL BC, and the Environmental Managers Association (EMA) of BC. He was also previously a member of the CBABC Legal Aid Committee and the CBABC Civil Litigation Section.
