CurrentThe Data Services Administrator provides oversight and strategic vision for the Data Services unit and isresponsible for administering various Advancement Services information systems, including the Customer Relationship Management database, online engagement and payment portals, and related services and applications. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of Data Services, the Data Services Provides analysis and recommendations to senior management regarding best methods, approaches, and procedures for database management and reporting, with a priority toward implementing solutions which ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Involves technical acumen for planning, designing, developing, implementing and administering data-based systems that acquire, prepare, store and provide access to data and metadata. Maintains and optimizes systems and migrates data and systems as needed. Ensures integrity and completeness of data and workflow, manages and / or develops data practices, databases and information systems as well as guidelines, dictionaries, registries and / or services. (Re)evaluates frameworks, strategies, standards and standards-making activities.Administers the donor and alumni relations database, online payment portals and related information systems, including maintaining user accounts, committing global changes, reporting, authoring queries, and overseeing data integrity projects. Integrates biographical and transactional data from external systems including the student information system, online transaction systems and prospect research systems as appropriate. Maintains standards including security, accuracy, data loading and duplicate elimination. Serves as a liaison with the UC Merced Information Technology staff on infrastructure to ensure improvements to the database, testing of updates, and adherence to University security practices.
Student Health Business Systems Analyst / It Operations
Uses data management concepts. Works on data management problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Supports overall infrastructure, planning and system software for the Health Services Department. This involves working in a collaborative role with the Campus IT Department. Maintaining an efficient, responsive, and secure operating environment for the Student Health Services electronic medical records system and the development and deployment of the department's web presence. Electronic Medical Records: Oversee the implementation, customization and maintenance of an electronic medical record (EMR) system; Deploy patches and upgrades from PNC; and Develop templates and reports required.System Support: Maintain operating systems, database software and various third party application systems; troubleshoot hardware and server issues; work collaboratively to oversee client and desktop support issues; and manage network security issues as they apply to data, communications and various state and federal regulations governing higher education and healthcare, including HIPAA and FERPA. Help maintain consistency with industry best practices to the extent possible. Project and Data Management: Work with the Director to maintain and manage Health Services and EMR-related projects; work with Campus IT Department to maintain and manage SHS file servers, workstations and connectivity; extract, transform, load and report on demographic and utilization data periodically.Data Security and Disaster Recovery: Manage system and data back-ups; restore records systems after a failure or power outage. Responsible for security and privacy requirements necessary to meet various state and federal regulations governing higher education and healthcare, including HIPAA and FERPA. Help to maintain consistency with UC policies and industry best practices. Monitor system use and generate performance metrics.
